started off the day by going to sch late *as usual again*
only to find that the immunology lecture is by michael
so, we had to tolerate his horrible drawing which he uses to illustrate the binding n cleaving of proteins -.-"
at least sf shares mi sentiments that mi arrows and missiles for the immunology project looked a whole lot better =D
AK's med micro lecture was kinda short today
his lecture notes were filled wif disgusting pictures tho *bleahx*


off for lunch
it was quite packed la at south canteen
i still dun get why its 2x more packed at south as compared to north
aren't the blocks evenly distributed?
i tink we nid a 5th canteen le, esp wif the expansion of the blocks near Q and R


nxt was marketing lecture
which the 4Cs totally missed w/o realizing
damn lame la.. since when we got more than 1 hr break other den on fri? -.-"

so its a freaking long mrt trip frm hougang to jurong east

initially, mi bro decided to bring along his psp to challenge my cousins for a game of bleach and pro evo soccer
however, since we're freaking late, my other cousins were already gone
*there goes my thrashing opportunity*

off we went to somerset for some shopping

so its quite farnie to see this mak cik wif a tudung, aka my mum, walking along orchard rd

the main reason we were there was to shop for some formal wear
there was this sale at john little
so we spent quite a while looking for clothes to fill the already-quite-full wardrobe
after like 3hrs, we finally went to pay for everything

even after all the sale and membership discounts


we were damn tired n hungry after that
so went to a nearby foodcourt to order food
while my bro checks the receipt
only to find that they cheated us of our cash
they nv add in the discounts for the sale
wth...
confronted the cashier after that
total amount refunded back: $30++
damn crap la they all


went home after that
only to find that 2 sets of clothes were missing
wtf...
my bro is freaking pissed la
so datz the situation rite now..
my bro is going back there to sort everything out

just came back frm sch
finally an interesting day
i came late for the med micro prac at 9am *as usual*
n the lecturer taking us for the prac was richard khaw o.O
fortunately he wasn't dere just now for some reason =D


it was a disgusting prac la
take skin swab, nose swab *hello mr.mucus~* and urine sample *weee~*
n i still had the smell of the nutrient broth in mi nostrils during lunch la


had lots of free time frm 11 onwards after the prac
so went on to chiong projects after dat
n unlike the other day, we actually got productive! XD
touched a little of everything, except for med micro project
which is quite an incredible feat, considering we have so many projects this sem


went to submit the scl commissioning proposal too
n so far everything went smoothly *phew!*
except for the fact that mr.guru cldnt be found so we can't order the badges just yet
nvm, i shall do that tmr =)


managed to get quite a couple of things done
nv felt so satisfied after so long!

after the events that took place earlier today
i can therefore conclude that
the greatest mystery in the world might actually be love
u dont have equations or theories which explains the choice of person u will fancy
the only close theory that was found so far,
(which i read some time ago in some forums, it was an extract frm a reliable news website)
is that u tend to go for someone who either:
1. share some similarities as u do (can be lifestyle, habits, unique features etc.)
2. have a personality which compliments ur own
3. resembles ur parents


explanation for the theory:
it's human instinct to go for ppl whose genes are known to "work" with their own
the main purpose of this choice is to produce viable offsprings
which goes back to the laws established by mendel - the laws of genetics
#1 - similarities are straight forward, nth can go wrong if u match 2 similar genes together, since u already knew that it will only produce kids which will be similar to urself
#2 - complimenting personalities, lets say one excels in a particular trait while the other does miserably at it but have another particular unique trait, will produce kids who can excel in both of the traits
#3 - resemblances to parents follow the same theory as similarities; since they are known to work before, it gives more incentive that it shld work in ur case too
lastly, it's a fact that most men are less interested in older women

which lead me to the assumption that he wanted to look up her skirt

overall it was kinda busy week

gd thing there was kurosagi to put my mind at ease

den avoids her in quite a comical way while she tries to catch up n talk to him
and there is also his trademark pistol hand gesture with a "Bang~!" every now and then
too bad i finished watching the whole series the other day
so now i nid to find smth else to help me waste time.. =/
its only 11 ep and i relli recommend it
the story is abt this guy who goes arnd swindling swindlers
so it sort of have that 'liar game' theme of outsmarting ur opponents

means i no nid to wake up at 5am to eat anymore!

went to pay my 'zakat' after my friday prayers
zakat is an obligatory donation which is to be made b4 hari raya prayers in the morning each yr
the payment is usually done any time in the mth of ramadhan and can be done either at the mosque or muis hq
the amount is always predetermined; 2.5% of ur total bank savings
it serves as to cleanse ur wealth
the money will be channeled to the poor and needy


anyway, so i was queueing up in frnt of the mosque's office to wait for my turn
i was like the only teenager there la
the rest all like 30-60 yrs old
*which makes this a gd setting for a funny incident* =D
there were 2 counters
after like 5mins, it was finally my turn
the guy who was at the counter beside me also just came in (he was in his 30s)
and so he began declaring the details of his payment
man: "$271.. paying by cash"
*hands the guy behind the counter a bundle of notes*
and then the person behind the counter finally attends to me
counter: "young man, what can i do for u today?"
me: "i'll be paying my zakat.. i've already tallied the amt.."
*hands my IC to let him verify*
me: "$751.. im using NETS"
*the ppl arnd me all froze*

coz my bro bought his long sleeve formal shirt at only $10?

we didnt buy a new set of baju kurung for this yr
coz we are lazy =D

brought along my 20-yr-old shuttles
my mum found it when she was cleaning the closet
somehow it was beside her rolled up marriage legal documents
and she was saying that my dad bought them b4 they got married
the tube encasing it was already super yellow..
but the shuttles were still in tip-top condition
feathers were still crisp and as gd as new
but i was against using them la..
coz after all these yrs, confirm smth wrong liao
altho my dad said that it shld be no diff frm a new shuttle
i had the feeling that the cork was in a bad condition
even the tape sealing the tube was difficult to peel off completely
dat made me wonder if the cork was still able to hold
and i was right..
by the end of 2hrs, out of both 20-yr-old shuttles used,
both of them had the cork broken off frm the main piece


had fun smashing tho
the shuttle was amazingly well-suited for my racket
it was able to fly out of the court and to the nxt court w/o much effort
while the rest were saying that the shuttle was heavy n cldnt shoot far o.O
looks like my dad did a great job in the mods for the racket
to match the shuttles used at that time..
my racket is relli light and it had the appropriate tension for the strings
which is relli astonishing for smth which was done 20 yrs ago
this kinda reminds me of initial d..
takumi's AE86 was mod by his dad, when he was still a pro street racer
and after 20 yrs, with the car handed down to his son,
it was still a major contender against all the new cars
cool eh?


talking abt old stuff
it reminds me of the discovery i made a few days ago
as i've said, my mum was cleaning the closet which was cluttered with legal documents
and she found my bro and my own personal file containing all our past academic records
and she also found her own O lvl results slip
which was obviously yellow by now


in any case, this was the discovery i made
all these while, i knew that my mum took literature
but it was malay literature back then
and i have been hearing gd things such like how she likes to read
so i was a bit flustered for getting a C6 for my lit for my Os
i was thinking..
"my mum took literature too, so i already had the genes in me..
but for me to do horribly..
does it mean that i wasn't making full use of my potential?"


however, now then i realized i was DEAD WRONG
coz after i saw her O lvls results slip,
i was laughing my arse off
seriously.. i went hysterical out of the sudden
coz i saw the word SEVEN beside the words LITERATURE
LOL?

got my hands on the much awaited aya kamiki's latest album last nite XD
14 songs, of which 4 had previously been featured in her singles and 1 was the acoustic version of one of her debut songs.. which leaves 9 new songs
nt too bad i guess.. an upbeat rock album
hey, it's kamiki.. so nth can possibly go wrong rite? =D

neither cld i anyway.


so, sf suggested going over to jubilee (aka the seriously pathetic cinema)
only to find that their earliest screening for the day was also at 5pm
(a relief for me actually; i'm nt quite a supporter for crappy quality)


so with our hopes already dashed thrice, we went on with my suggestion

kpool had slightly less than half the tables occupied, thankfully..

and after watching the show, i seriously think that the scrins (datz wad the alien faction is called) frm command & conquer 3: tiberium wars was heavily based upon the show
with the blue laser-shooting tripods towering and annhilating towns
which reminds me..
i have yet to try out world in conflict even tho i have the dvd on the com table rite now..

had the caltex national karting challenge earlier juz now
i know.. its supposed to be yesterday but becoz of some screw ups
such as some buggers who crashed until damn jialat
some buggers who stepped on both the gas and brake pedal at the same time
n oso the late comers
our run was pushed back to today
they did a gd job to handle the situation tho
they placed all the girls to be in charge of the admin
so the guys will nt have the heart to argue with them
nt bad...


in any case, today was a blast
even tho i screwed up.. XD
(hey, i told u i was gonna screw up, so i was keeping my side of the bargain ok? =X)
skidded n crashed at the 4th lap >.<"

too bad cldnt put any modification to increase the tyre traction =/
then when i was going to pit in, it was damn farnie la
coz nid to raise ur hand as u r approaching the pit area
den of coz i complied la as i drove in
but then i realized smth:
"OH SHIT, WHERE'S THE BRAKES!??"

the thing is, i nv even touched the brake pedal the whole time
it was just acceleration management
thus, that ridiculous situation occurred
fortunately, i found the brakes on time
*aww.. u guys were dying to see a casualty rite?*


the other farnie thing was,
both the first driver and last driver have an additional lap exclusive of the normal 5 laps
the first driver have an initial warm up lap
n the last driver have a leisure lap at the end after speeding thru the start/finish line
there were road marshals at the line with signs to indicate whenever it will be ur individual final lap
after the 5th lap, syafiq was shown the sign
n after that lap, he still passed by the finish line again instead of pitting in
(dat means he went for 7 laps for those of u who can't count)
the girl who was holding on to the sign was staring in bewilderment
damn farnie!!


in the end, the whole thing was relli worth it
20 bucks and u get:
4 laps during the briefing
5 laps during the tournament itself
balaclava (a white cloth to cover the head b4 wearing the helmet)
a goodie bag containing:
-event tshirt
-towel
-magazines
-pens
-notepads
-sticker
-lots of other misc stuff
and in addition to that, i went to kapo 4 bottles of drinks =X

a quick update before tmr comes. =D


took my FTT last monday
n no surprise here,
of coz i passed!
even tho the questions were confusing,
nth can stop me after i went study mode rite? XD


had the scl club exco interview on tuesday
nt too bad i guess
i dun tink i screwed up on any of my ans
the yr ones sure were anxious
even tho they nv directly say or show that they were,
u can somehow read inbetween the lines
well, this is just the beginning
they dont know wads yet to come..
